3rd International Course on Integrated Pest Management "Alternative Methods for Reduction of Pesticide Use"
3rd International Course on Integrated Pest Management “Alternative Methods for Reduction of Pesticide Use” will be held in IARTC between 18th – 22th November 2013 with 14 researchers from Croatia, Egypt, Iran and Sudan. During the course the Head of Plant Health Research Department Assoc. Prof. Birol AKBAŞ and researchers from different research institutes will conduct the lectures.
The subjects of the lectures are plant health research organization and practices in Turkey, use of plant protection products and its effects on humans and environment, biological and biotechnical pest management principals, biotechnology utilization in plant health, cultural measures in pest control, solarization in protected cultivation, spraying methods and calibration, residues on plant products and resistance management. In the scope of the training there will also be a technical trip to İzmir’s Menderes and Seferihisar districts to a greenhouse and a citrus orchard where participants will have the opportunity to see the practices of theoretically conducted lectures.
2nd International Course on Watershed Hydrology and Soil Conservation
“2nd International Course on Watershed Hydrology and Soil Conservation” will be held in our Center with participants from Bulgaria, Egypt, Iraq, Iran and Sudan between 4-8 November 2013. During the training engineers of IARTC, researchers from General Direcotorate of Agricultural Research and Policies, Central Research Institute of Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources, Alata Horticulture Research Station, Geçit Kuşağı Agricultural Research Institute, Konya Soil, Water and Combat to Desertification Research Station, Eastern Anatolia Agricultural Research Institute and faculty from Agricultural Departments of Ankara and Ege University will instruct lectures on the relevant topics.
FAO/WMO/UNCCD Regional Workshop on “Capacity Development to Support National Drought Management Policies in Central Asia”
Regional Workshop on “Capacity Development to Support National Drought Management Policies in Central Asia” in cooperation with FAO (UN- Food and Agriculture Organization), WMO (World Meteorological Organization) and UNCCD (United Nations Convention and Combat Desertification) will be held in our Center with 29 participants from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan officers and Turkey between 4-7 November 2013.
The objective of the regional workshop is to enhance the capacities of Member Countries for the development of risk based national drought management policies.

Workshop Program for First Sub-region Meeting on Management and Conservation of Animal Genetic Resources in Central Asia
“Workshop Program for First Sub-region Meeting on Management and Conserving of Animal Genetic Resources in Central Asia”, supported in the scope of FTPP, was held in our Center between 24th-27th September 2013.
Other than participants from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, officers from FAO Rome and Ankara Headquarters, FAO SEC (Sub-regional Office for Central Asia) and Aegean Agricultural Research Institute also attended the meeting.
With this meeting it is aimed to improve the sustainable use and conservation of animal genetic resources in the region, to enhance national focus points, to support sub-regional focus points, to increase data accuracy and entry to DAD – IS and to prepare national reports of countries.
International Course on Agricultural Irrigation
International Course on Agricultural Irrigation will be held in our Center with 16 participants from Egypt, Nigeria, Iran, Sudan, Bosnia Herzegovina and Macedonia between 30th September - 04th October 2013.
During the course agriculture engineers from International Agricultural Research and Training Center, and Faculty of Agriculture of Ege University and Adnan Menderes University will instruct lectures about the topics mentioned in the program.

International Course on Plant Nutrition and Soil Management
International Plant Nutrition and Soil Management Course was held in our Center with 10 participants from Algeria, Egypt, Iran, Nigeria and Senegal between 16th – 20th September 2013.
During the course agriculture engineers from General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies, Central Research Institute of Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources and International Agricultural Research and Training Center and faculty of Agriculture of Ege University and Adnan Menderes University instructed lectures about the topics mentioned in the program.
On 18.09.2013 participants also received on-site training in the technical trip to Genel Greenhouse Company on tomato cultivation in soilless culture and to Rapunzel Organic Agriculture Company on grading, packaging and storing of organic dried fig, dried apricot and pistachio.

2nd International Course on Genbank Management and Biodiversity Conservation
2nd International Course on Genbank Management and Biodiversity Conservation has been held between 19th – 23rd August in our Center. The training has been carried out with 19 participants from Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Sudan, Palestine, Macedonia, Egypt, Iran, Libya and Morocco and with distinguished lecturers; the researchers from Plant Genetic Resources Department of Aegean Agricultural Research Institute and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alptekin Karagöz from Directorate of Aksaray Vocational School of Technical Sciences.

4th International Course on Sustainable Management of Soil and Water Resources
“4th International Course on Sustainable Management of Soil and Water Resources” was held in our Center with 17 participants from Algeria, Botsvana, Bulgaria, Crotia, Egypt, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Namibia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Serbia, Sudan, Thailand and Turkmenistan between 24th July – 5th June 2013.
During the course experts from International Agricultural Research and Training Center, Ankara General Directorate of Central Research Institute of Soil, Fertilizer and Water Resources, Kırklareli Atatürk Soil, Water and Agricultural Meteorology Research Station, General Directorate of Meteorological Service and Adnan Menderes Airport and faculty from Atatürk University, Ege University and Dicle University instructed lectures.
